Spring is (slowly) making its way here in Texas. Over the weekend my 7 year old and I decided it is time to acknowledge the beginning of Spring, and made this simple wreath. And of course, as soon as we hung it on the door, another cold front blew through, complete with a drizzle (yes, that’s a cold front in Texas), grey skies, and strong winds. The wreath did not budge– the Spring is here to stay!
We had a blast making the wreath. My daughter kept saying “It is SO much fun!”
Pulling off stray leaves was the essential first step, we had a volunteer to help us out:
It was our first wreath and we like how it turned out.
It was actually a really easy DIY, thanks to this great tutorial from Ann who writes her blog On Sutton Place. She has a ton of inspirational ideas and tips on DIY home decor, sewing, and great recipes, and her house is beautiful!
My daughter suggested that for a Summer version of this wreath, we should replace the nest with a butterfly. I like how the girl thinks!

It’s beautiful, Mila! I like your daughter’s idea. I thought that wreath looked like Ann’s On Sutton Place! I bet she will be flattered that you made it. It came out great!
Thanks Amy! It was a great project to do with my daughter. I like an easy DIY, Ann’s blog is a great source for those.
Your frittata recipe looks delicious, can’t wait to make it! Thanks for stopping by:)
I’m so glad that spring is coming!!! What a beautiful wreath and I love that you included your daughter in the process.
Yes, it has been beautiful here lately! I know it won’t last for long, we will move to high 90s before we know it! I wonder what kind of climate your area of Portugal has?
Love your wreath. It’s definitely a fresh breath of spring! Hope you’ll share it at the Spring is Coming link party at The Everyday Home, Confessions of a Plate Addict and Our Southern Home today.
Thank you Amy! I would love to share it. The link party is such a great source of ideas and inspiration, the ladies are so talented and creative!
Your wreath is very pretty. It’s your first? Great job!
Thanks so much, Stacey! Ann’s clear instructions were very helpful. It really brightens our front porch:)
